Will County Habitat for Humanity

Will County Habitat for Humanity is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization.

Since its incorporation in 1988, Habitat for Humanity has built 53 houses in our community - 20 houses in Joliet and 32 houses in Lockport Township. The houses are on scattered sites. This affordable housing program qualifies families earning 30 to 50 percent of the median income for our area. Selected families must have good credit because Habitat for Humanity not only builds a house with them, Habitat also loans the family the money to purchase the house. No profit is added to the house price and the loan has zero interest. Families must demonstrate the need for the Habitat housing during their selection process.
